It launched two models with prices ranging from RMB 988,000-1,288,000 (~US$141,219 – ~US$184,099), this might be the most expensive Chinese brand vehicle. The new car is based on the old Benz GL-class platform and is powered by Mercedes-Benz’s 3.0T and 4.0T engines.
The appearance of the Beijing BJ90 is very tough. The front face inherits the family design elements of the Beijing BJ series SUV, the huge chrome five-hole front grille is very recognizable. It matches the square headlights on both sides and looks very imposing. The interior of BJ90’s headlights is decorated with chrome trim, which enhances the sense of refinement, the turning lights like the “eyebrows” draw on some Mercedes-Benz designs, which are more beautiful when combined.
From the side view, BAIC BJ90’s body lines stretch straight, the lower edge of the window glass is outlined with chrome trim, extending to the rear of the car, which has the finishing touch. On the rear side, the rear of the car is full of shapes. The tail lights are designed vertically and connected by a thick chrome trim. The rear surround is also chrome-plated. The exhaust ports are bilateral two way out. In terms of body size, its length, width, and height are 5171/1995 / 1860mm, and the wheelbase is 3100m. It is positioned as a large SUV.
In terms of interior, its overall allows us to see many outgoing Mercedes-Benz GL-class design elements, including the overall shape of the center console, control knobs, and the control area near the central armrest box, which have maintained a high consistency. The difference is that Beijing BJ90 is equipped with a larger central control LCD screen and a new multifunctional steering wheel with BAIC badge. At the same time, the shape of the air-conditioning air outlet above the center console is matched with the physical clock, which not only increases the sense of line, but also makes the interior look more luxurious.
In terms of power, according to previous news, BJ90 will be powered by Mercedes-Benz’s 3.0T and 4.0T engines. The maximum power of the 3.0T engine is 333 horsepower, and the maximum power of the 4.0T engine is 422 horsepower, it is available in four-wheel drive system. In terms of suspension, the Beijing BJ90 features the same rear double wishbone independent suspension as the old Mercedes GL-Class.
