In Spe. 2021, the two new Chinese vehicle setups delivered more than 10,000 yuan for the first time, but their sales in Oct. were very different. Xiaopeng continued its momentum of breaking 10,000 units, and the delivery volume of NIO fell to around 3,000 units due to the transformation of the production line.
On November 1, a number of Chinese car manufacturer setups announced the delivery volume for October. Xpeng Motors finally won the monthly sales crown for the first time, delivering 10,138 units in October; after achieving monthly sales exceeding 10,000 in September for the first time, NIO’s delivery fell to 3667 units in October due to production line transformation and the shortage of chips; Lixiang’s results is stable, 7649 units were delivered; NETA Auto, which has seen a rapid increase in sales this year, delivered 8107 units in October.
After the delivery of more than 10,000 yuan in September, Xpeng Motors continued its momentum again. The total delivery volume in October was 10,138 units, a year-on-year increase of 233%. As of the end of October this year, the historical cumulative delivery volume has exceeded 100,000.
In terms of single-model delivery, in October, P7 delivered 6,044 units, a year-on-year increase of 187%; Xpeng G3’s mid-term facelift model, G3i, has seen sales increase since the start of mass delivery in September this year. This month, 3,557 units of the G3 series were delivered, this month, 3,557 units of the G3 series were delivered, setting the best monthly delivery result for this model since its launch in 2018. The P5, the third mass-produced model that was launched on September 15th, has received enthusiastic response from the market. Xiaopeng revealed that there are plenty of orders and delivered 437 units on a small scale in October. According to industry estimates, with the large-scale delivery of P5, Xiaopeng Motors’ monthly sales volume is expected to remain above 10,000 units.
Before the release of sales this time, NIO has issued an announcement saying that due to the transformation of the production line in October, some vehicles could not be delivered as scheduled, and it will provide credit subsidies for users who delay picking up their vehicles. This also provided a “preventive shot” for the decline in sales in October. Sure enough, on November 1, NIO announced its sales and delivered a total of 3667 smart electric vehicles. It is reported that in October, JAC-NIO completed the phased transformation of the production line of the Hefei Advanced Manufacturing Base. Starting in late October, the Hefei Advanced Manufacturing Base has gradually resumed production. From January to October, a total of 70062 new vehicles were delivered, a year-on-year increase of 122.9%.
After the Lixiang Auto sold nearly 10,000 units a month in August, it failed to complete the “one-stop” in September and October, achieving monthly sales exceeding 10,000. Delivery volume reached 7,649 units in October, an increase of 107.2% year-on-year. As of October 31, 2021, a total of 62,919 vehicles have been delivered this year, and the historical cumulative delivery volume has reached 96,516.
Shen Yanan, co-founder and president of Lixiang Auto, said that it took 708 days for the company to reach the milestone of producing 100,000 Lixiang ONE. The number of orders for more than 14,500 units in October, the company is working with suppliers, is trying to fully restore the supply of radar, aiming to shorten the delivery time.
NETA Automobile also announced the delivery data. In October, 8,107 units were delivered, a year-on-year increase of 294%, breaking the 8,000-unit mark for the first time, setting a record delivery volume for 9 consecutive months. Among them, NETA V delivered 5,178 units, and NETA U Pro delivered 2,929 units. From January to October this year, 49,534 units were delivered, a year-on-year increase of 398%.
