BAIC Launched Beijing Brand & Off-Road Vehicle BJ40 City Hunter Edition At 2019 Shanghai Auto Show


At the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show, BAIC Group released the “Beijing” brand and announced the listing price of Beijing BJ40 City Hunter Edition (2.0T). The new car offers two models with a price range of RMB 174,800-184,800 yuan (~US$25,433 – US$26,888). The 2.3T model will be available in June 2019.

The Beijing brand is the off-road vehicle brand of BAIC Group. The Beijing BJ40 City Hunter Edition is a special model based on the Beijing BJ40 for the needs of both urban and off-road consumers.

In the Beijing brand planning, the BJ40 is divided into four levels: BJ40 S (super), BJ40 P (professional), BJ40 C (city) and BJ40 SE (Special Edition). They correspond to different consumer groups, making the demand for target users more precise in terms of design and configuration. The BJ40 City Hunter Edition is the BJ40 C series, mainly for those who yearn for off-road life while paying attention to the comfort and technology of driving in the city.

The BJ40 City Hunter Edition hasn’t changed much in terms of design, but it has been redesigned with a new lightweight rim, it has also better power, handling and fuel economy while reducing weight. Improved in comfort configuration and technology configuration. Features such as surround sound, voice control, power seat and three-speed heating seat, these are more targeted to meet the needs of urban users.

In terms of power, the Beijing BJ40 City Hunter Edition is powered by a 2.0T direct-injection gasoline engine with a maximum power of 160 kW and a peak torque of 320 Nm, matched with a 6-speed AMT from ZF.
