We learned from the official that the Jiabao model manufactured by BAW (Beijing Automobile Works) is on the Chinese market. The new car is positioned as a mini electric vehicle, and a total of 3 configuration models have been launched, with a price range of 46,900 to 56,900 yuan.

The new car is based on the Starry Sky platform manufactured by BAW, and is a five-door, four-seater model. The overall style of the new EV is square and small, and the front face is in a tough style. It still adopts the classic closed front grille of pure electric vehicles. The headlight group adopts the popular split design, the lower part is the high/low beam integrated headlight, and the upper part is the turn signal.

The side of the body is simple and straight, and the combination of two-color body makes it look full of vitality. The color of the body will be more fashionable and colorful in the future. In addition, the design of the suspended roof is also a popular design element nowadays. In terms of rims, the new car will provide 13-inch wheels.

The shape of the tail is also mainly square, and the rear bumper has certain cross-border elements. The taillights are square and compact, with LED light sources incorporated inside. The taillights are equipped with black highlight trims, which echo the front of the car. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 3532/1498/1605mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2275mm.

Depending on the configuration, the new car will provide dual 7-inch or dual 10.25-inch dual screens. In terms of functionality, it will have a wealth of functions such as navigation, mobile phone interconnection, Wi-Fi, voice interaction, Bluetooth, panoramic images, and air conditioning control.

In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 25 kW and a peak torque of 100 Nm. In terms of batteries, lithium-ion batteries are used, and two versions of cruising range (CLTC) of 122km/172km are provided. Charging only supports slow charging, which is 7 hours.

Some people may confuse BAIC with BAW. In fact, these are two companies. BAW was mainly engaged in the development, production and sales of light off-road vehicles, trucks and related special vehicles before, and now it is gradually transforming into passenger cars and new energy vehicles. Earlier, BAW launched a smaller new energy vehicle Yuanbao, which is positioned as a 2-door-4-seat A00-class pure electric vehicle.
