About SAIC SENOVA (Kunbao)

Founded in the 1990s, SENOVA(Kunbao) was originally a Swedish luxury car brand, the SAAB, which was later acquired by Chinese companies. SENOVA became the first mid-to-high-end vehicle brand of BAIC (BeiJing Auto).

In 2009, BAIC successfully acquired SAAB’s core intellectual property rights for US$200 million, which once changed the passive situation of China’s pure market-for-technology and practiced a new technological development route. At the 2012 Beijing International Auto Show, BAIC officially released the M-trix mid-to-high-end sedan platform with 100% independent intellectual property rights, “Originating from SAAB, higher than SAAB”, and announced the completion of the digestion, absorption and innovation of Saab technology.

The first SENOVA model was launched on May 11, 2013, now SENOVA brand has extended to many vehicle models.
