The 2026 Chengdu Motor Show officially kicked off on August 21, marking the global debut of the Stelato V8, a new mid-to-large MPV from the Huawei-backed brand. Similar in size to the Luxeed V9, the V8 offers both pure electric and extended-range powertrain options to cater to diverse consumer needs.

The exterior adopts Stelato’s signature design language, featuring a “star-ring” headlight cluster, a robust front fascia, and a steeply raked windshield that exudes a sophisticated, business-oriented aesthetic. In terms of intelligent driving, the vehicle is equipped with a roof-mounted Huawei 896-line LiDAR, powered by the Qiankun intelligent driving system and the Tuling chassis platform, providing the potential for Level 3 autonomous driving capabilities.

The side profile showcases a near-flat roofline, accented by chrome trim along the window frames and lower door edges, which adds visual depth. At the rear, the vehicle features a full-width taillight assembly with the Stelato brand logo positioned above. The V8 measures 5,335mm in length, 2,005mm in width, and 1,805mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,250mm.

Performance-wise, the Stelato V8 is available in single-motor and dual-motor configurations. The extended-range model utilizes a 1.5T range extender with a maximum power output of 118kW. Both the pure electric and extended-range single-motor versions feature a 227kW electric motor. The dual-motor variant boasts a front motor with 160kW and a rear motor with 227kW. The extended-range model offers battery capacities of 56kWh and 75.4kWh, providing pure electric ranges of 275km, 260km, and 339km (CLTC). The pure electric version is equipped with a 120kWh battery pack, delivering ranges of 775km and 830km.

**Editor’s Note:**
As the fourth MPV model launched under the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA), following the Luxeed V9 and the Maextro V800/V680, the Stelato V8 shares similar dimensions with the Luxeed V9 and comes fully equipped with the HIMA technology suite. While the Luxeed V9 is positioned as a “panoramic smart flagship,” the Stelato V8 is targeted as a “family flagship MPV.” It remains to be seen whether the V8 will enter the market with a more accessible price point, a prospect that has generated significant anticipation.
