Xiaomi officially announced its expansion into the European market, including Germany, by 2027 during the media day at the 2026 IFA Berlin. To lay the groundwork for its retail and service infrastructure, the company signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with eight leading German automotive dealer groups.

The selected partners are among the most prestigious and experienced in Europe, boasting decades of expertise in managing high-end automotive brands. The group includes industry heavyweights such as Lueg, Germany’s first authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer; Emil Frey, the largest dealer group in Europe; and SternPartner, a core Mercedes-Benz partner in Northern Germany.

Yu Liguo, Vice President of Xiaomi Auto and head of its international business, emphasized the company’s commitment to long-term investment in Europe. “By leveraging our Munich-based R&D center and our expanding network of sales and service partners, we are dedicated to delivering innovative products and a premium service experience to European customers. Localized collaboration is at the heart of this commitment,” Yu stated. Xiaomi plans to continue expanding its partnership network across Europe as the 2027 launch date approaches.

This international push follows Xiaomi’s rapid growth in the Chinese market. Since the first deliveries of its debut model in March 2024, the company has delivered over 700,000 vehicles in mainland China. Notably, the Xiaomi SU7 series surpassed the 500,000-unit milestone in just 28.5 months, while the Xiaomi YU7 recorded over 240,000 locked orders within 18 hours of its launch.

Xiaomi has also bolstered its brand reputation through high-performance achievements. In April 2025, the production version of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, equipped with a professional track package, set an official record for “Electric Luxury Sedans” at the Nürburgring Nordschleife with a time of 7:04.957. Additionally, the Xiaomi YU7 GT established the first official record in the Nürburgring’s new “Autonomous Driving” category, completing the circuit in 10:29.483 without human intervention.

Looking ahead, Xiaomi is diversifying its product lineup. In July, the company held its Kunlun Technology Conference, unveiling the “SkyNomad” range, which targets the extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) segment with a focus on “intelligent variable space.” The new model is scheduled for an official release on September 7. To prepare for its global debut, Xiaomi launched its international website and official social media channels in late August. The company is currently showcasing its “Human-Car-Home” smart ecosystem and the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo at IFA, which runs from September 4 to 8.
