NIO has officially reached a significant milestone in its infrastructure expansion, with its 9,000th charging and battery-swapping station now operational in Ankang, Shaanxi Province. The launch was part of a broader expansion effort, with multiple additional stations coming online simultaneously in cities including Hefei, Tangshan, Wuxi, and Wuhan. As of now, NIO has deployed a total of 9,003 charging and battery-swapping stations, having provided over 200 million services to its users.

The 9,000th facility, the Ankang Urban Investment High-tech Gymnasium Swap Station, represents a collaborative effort between NIO and local municipal investment partners. To date, NIO has partnered with over 40 municipal and transportation investment entities across 25 provinces and regions to co-build more than 550 battery-swapping stations. Key partners include Waneng Group Zhong’an Energy, Wuhan Shouyi Group, Zhongdekai Group, Changsha Economic Development Group, and Xi’an Urban Investment Group.

NIO’s current network consists of 3,927 battery-swapping stations, 5,076 charging stations, and 29,255 individual charging piles, maintaining its position as an industry leader in both swap and charge infrastructure. The network includes 1,043 highway battery-swapping stations, covering a comprehensive “9 vertical, 11 horizontal, and 16 major city cluster” highway network that connects over 550 cities.

Furthermore, NIO has successfully established 87 “Power-up Scenic Routes,” with plans to exceed 100 by the end of the year. Following the completion of routes such as the G318 Sichuan-Tibet line, the Yunnan-Tibet line, and the Hexi Corridor, the Silk Road battery-swapping route is scheduled to be fully operational in 2026. This will enable users to travel across all provincial-level administrative regions in mainland China using only battery-swapping services. NIO remains committed to infrastructure investment, with plans to add over 1,000 new battery-swapping stations in 2026. We will continue to monitor the brand’s progress.
