We learned from BAIC New Energy that BAIC EC5 officially opened for pre-sale, and it will launch three models with pre-sale price of 110,000 yuan (~US$19,595). As a small all-electric SUV model, it uses BAIC new serial name, the EC5 can be regarded as facelift of EX360. In addition, BAIC EC5 will be officially listed on July 13.
Unlike BAIC EX360, the appearance of the car has large update. The front face has a fake grille, and the lower bumper is also more in line with its latest family design language, the headlights are simple in shape, the internal structure is clear, the overall shape is more refined.
In terms of size, BAIC EC5 measures at 4122/1750/1583mm, the wheelbase is 2519mm, the curb weight is only 1430kg, and the tire is 205/50 R1. The design of the rear end is relatively dull, and the shape of the taillight is similar to that of the headlights, showing a simple style.
For the interior, EC5 is similar in design to the current EX-series. The center console adds wood trim and features a knob shift lever. In terms of configuration, it is equipped with a 6.2-inch LCD instrument panel and a 7-inch multimedia touch screen, it adds the CarLife mobile phone interconnect function.
In terms of power, BAIC EC5 is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor with maximum power of 80kW (109PS) and a ternary lithium battery pack from Farasis. The NEDC’s comprehensive cruising range is 403km(250miles).
