At the 2019 Chengdu Auto Show, SOUEAST AUTO debut its small SUV Soueast DX5, the pre-sale price was also announced, the new car will launch a total of six variants with both 1.5L/1.5T engines, pre-sale price range of 69,900-99,900 yuan (~US$9,774 – US$13,969).
From the appearance, the overall design of Soueast DX5 continues the family design language of Soueast DX3/DX7. The front face features the “wing” double-banner front intake grille, and is combined with the eagle-eye headlights. The side of the body features a submersible waistline and a floating roof, matches with 18-inch wheels for a more stretchy look.
From the rear end of the car, the taillights are shaped with eye-catching LED taillights. The exhaust layout features a recessed design with chrome trim to enhance the overall sporty feel. In terms of body size, the Soueast DX5 has a length and width of 4406/1840/1654 (1680) and wheelbase of 2615mm, it is a small SUV slotting in between DX3 and DX7.
The overall design of center console is relatively simple, with lines and planes as the design tone. The biggest highlight of the interior is the 10-inch floating central control panel and full LCD instrument pancel. In terms of configuration, the new car is also equipped with a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, a new generation of intelligent interconnection system, voice control, and cruise control. In addition, the rear seats also support 40/60 spilt fold down.
In terms of power, the Soueast DX5 is powered by 1.5L and 1.5T engines, with maximum power of 120 ps and 156 ps respectively. The transmission is matched with a 5-speed manual transmission (1.5L) and a 6-AT gearbox (1.5T) as well as CVT gearbox (1.5T).
