Great Wall Motors Pao (P-Series) Pickups To Have New Badge, More Parameters Unveiled

The GWM Pao Pickup debuted on 2019 Shanghai Auto Show

The Great Wall Motors (GWM)’s Pao series (P-series) pickups were officially unveiled at the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show, but their detailed power parameters were not announced at the time. This time we obtained the parameters of the model from the latest list of China MIIT. It is understood that GWM P-series will aim at people who like pickup trucks, thus weakening the commercial attributes of pickup trucks. GWM Pao Pickups will be produced on a new platform a at the GWM Chongqing Yongchuan plant.

It is worth mentioning that GWM Pao pickups have a brand new badge hanging in the front grille, which is very unique in style.

Two power specifications:

GWM P-series pickups are powered by two engines, the 2.0-L turbo gasoline engine (codename GW4C20B) and the 2.0-L turbo diesel engine (GW4D20M).

  • 2.0T gasoline engine: code GW4C20B, displacement 1967ml, maximum power 145kW (194hp).
  • 2.0T diesel engine: code GW4D20M, displacement 1996ml, maximum power 122kW (163hp).

Opitional trim

Vehicles are available in different configurations depending on the configuration and body type:

  • Pao van transport pickup: optional grille, ACC adaptive cruise, side pedal, rim.
  • Pao pickup high trim level: optional grille, ACC adaptive cruise, side pedal, rim, hard truck bed cover without roll cage.
  • Pao pickup lower trim level: optional front fog lights, sunroof.

  • Pao van transport pickup: body size: 5410/1934/1886 mm, wheelbase :3230 mm; truck bed: 1520, 1520, 1016; seat layout: 2+3 layout; rated load mass 450kg; curb weight: 1975kg; tire size 265/60 R18.
  • Pao pickup high trim level: (short truck bed): body size: 5410/1934/1886mm, wheelbase 3230mm; truck bed size: 1520/1520/538mm; seat layout: 2+3; rated load mass 480kg, curb weight is 2045kg; the tire size is 265/60 R18.
  • Pao pickup lower trim level: (short truck bed): body size: 5362/1883/1882mm, wheelbase 3230mm; truck bed size: 1520/1520/538mm; seat layout: 2+3 layout; rated load quality 500kg; curb weight: 1885, 1955, 2005, 2070kg; tire specifications :245/70 R17.
  • Pao pickup lower trim level: (long truck bed): body size: 5602/1883/1882mm, wheelbase 3470mm; truck bed size: 1760/1520/538mm; seat layout: 2+3 layout; rated load quality 500kg; conditioning quality 1900, 1920, 1980, 2010, 2085kg; tire specifications: 245/70 R17.
