When the TANK 300 is hot-selling in China, the other traditional vehicle maker CHERY starts so build its own hardcore SUV for competing, recently, CHERY released a set of official image of JETOUR Traveler (Chinese “旅行者”) under JETOUR brand. Before that, the new car has been named JETOUR T-1, and the new car will debut on March 1. It is positioned as a medium-sized hardcore off-road SUV, with 5-seater and 7-seater versions. According to previous news, the new car is expected to start pre-sale at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2023, and it will be launched in the third quarter. Judging from the suspected pre-sale prices previously exposed, there are 5 fuel version models with a pre-sale price range of 149,800 to 186,800 yuan; there are 2 hybrid models with a pre-sale price range of 196,800 to 206,800 yuan.
In terms of appearance, JETOUR Traveler was designed by former Porsche design director Hakan Saracoglu, and the appearance adopts a tough body style design. Among them, the grille is equipped with the “JETOUR” brand logo and is connected to the headlights. The distinctive headlight group style is impressive. The posture of the whole vehicle is square and powerful, with sharp lines and full shapes coexisting.
On the side of the body, the wheel arches of the real car protrude outwards and are equipped with large-sized tires. The window frames are sharp and angular, showing a hard-line style, and adopts a floating roof design. The rear of the vehicle is equipped with a classic small bookcase, and the vertical taillights are wrapped in a black frame, showing off-road temperament.
In terms of interior, it is also the first appearance. The interior of the new car adopts a T-shaped straight layout, with clear edges and corners, simple and powerful, and the interior materials are exquisite. The car is equipped with a large-size floating central control screen. JETOUR Traveler will have more outstanding performance in “travel +” ecological services, intelligent driving, and healthy cockpit. Below the central control screen is the main control button area. At the same time, the gear shift of the gearbox looks very powerful, and the design of the doors also shows a distinctive chic.
In terms of power, the new car adopts BorgWarner’s sixth-gen four-wheel drive product, with two types of engines: 1.6T/2.0T, and gearboxes with 7DCT and 8AT. Previously, JETOUR revealed that JETOUR T-1 has developed more than 20 scenarios such as off-road scenes, drone scenes, and camping scenes. In terms of products and configurations, there are parking air conditioners, trailer qualifications, wading sensors, luggage racks, etc., and more than 20 of the more than 40 options can be fully installed or optional to ensure the playability of the new car.
