Chinese vehicle brands entering international markets are nothing new, such as Chery, JAC, and Changan Auto, they have rich product lines and sales experience overseas. And just today, Changan released the official image of the Hunter, it is actually the overseas version of its pickup truck Kaicheng (KAICENE) F70, it will be the first to be sold in the Chilean market, and then it will land in other markets in South America and the Middle East.
Compared with the Kaicheng F70 currently on sale in the Chinese market, the most significant change of Changan Hunter is the newly designed grille. The black integrated center grid of the new pickup has a chrome-plated trim strip edging. Compared with the rugged and wild horizontal center grid shape of the Chinese specification model, it has a more refined atmosphere. The logo of the grille of the overseas model is also changed. It became the logo of Changan Auto.
In addition, from the official map of Changan Hunter announced this time, the appearance of the new pickup is also available in two versions, one is the standard model without wheel arches, the other is with black engineering plastic wheel arches, and the two versions of the models are slightly different in the shape of the rear cargo truss.
The interior of the Changan Hunter is the same as the Kaicheng F70, and it still has a strong PSA style (this is not surprising as a product developed by Changan and PSA), and the novel interior design language does work for this main scene. The pickup brings different visual effects from products of the same level, even with a refined atmosphere. Entry models are equipped with 8-inch multimedia screens, while high-profile models are equipped with 10-inch screens and support Bluetooth and mobile phone links.
In terms of power, Changan Hunter currently only provides a 1.9-liter turbocharged diesel engine in the Chilean market with a maximum power of 150 horsepower and a peak torque of 350 Nm. It is matched with a 6-speed manual gearbox from Getrag. Equipped with two-wheel drive and optional four-wheel drive. It is worth mentioning that Hunter is not Changan’s first model to enter the Chilean market. Before that, CS15, CS35, CS55, Auchan CX70 and other models have been sold in Chile.
