On October 28th in Beijing, Changan Auto officially announced that its new pickup truck, Changan Kaicheng (KAICENE) F70, was officially launched. The new pickup has launched 30 models, the official guide price is 92,800-139,800 yuan in Chinese market. It is understood that KAICENE F70 is a new pickup product jointly developed by Changan Auto and PSA Group, which is produced by the Hebei Dingzhou factory.
The Changan Kaicheng F70 was first unveiled at the 2019 Chongqing Auto Show, it was gotten offline on September 4. The most characteristic part of the new pickup is reflected in the front face. The large-sized polygonal grille with bright black hooks occupies a large area of the front. The interior is chromed with the English name “KAICENE” and two chrome trims. On both sides of the grille, the headlights with the lens are connected to the grille frame. In the front bumper part, the circular fog lamps on both sides are placed on the irregular plaque black plaque, the wide and flat black and silver two-color lower slats also highlight the off-road temperament.
Changan Kaicheng F70 is available in two different sizes, of which the standard trunk bed has a length, width and height of 5330/1930/1835mm and wheelbase of 3180mm, The long wheelbase has size of 5580/1930/1835mm and wheelbase of 3430mm. Depending on the configuration, F70 is also equipped with 265/65 R17 or 265/60 R18 tire rims. In addition, the approach and departure angle are 29° and 27°, respectively, the minimum ground clearance is 230 mm.
As for the interior, as the product jointly built by Changan Automobile and PSA Group, the interior of Changan Kaicheng F70 shows more design details from the Peugeot brand, such as the three-dimensional center console and the Peugeot-like central control button area, the floating central control large screen, the flat rectangular air conditioning air outlet with contrast color, the novel two-spoke multi-function steering wheel, and the same manual gears as Peugeot’s existing models all bring strong sense of grade.
In terms of configuration, the high-trim models will also provide front collision warning, active braking system, lane departure warning, steep slope descent, body stability control, one-button start, tire pressure monitoring, adaptive cruise, LED taillights, smart keys and so on.
Changan Kaicheng F70 is powered by 1.9T diesel engine (Yunnei Power), Jiangxi-Isuzu 2.5T diesel engine, and the 4K22D4T gasoline engine from Aerospace Mitsubishi. Among them, the maximum power of 1.9T diesel engine is 150 horsepower, the peak torque is 350 Nm; the maximum power of 2.5T engine is 129 horsepower, the peak torque is 320 Nm; the maximum power of 2.5T diesel engine is 150 hp, and the peak torque is 360 N.
