The Changan EADO HEV (Blue Core Supercharged version) officially hit the market on May 23, with deliveries commencing immediately. The new model is available in three trim levels, priced between 89,900 and 99,900 RMB (approximately $12,400 – $13,800 USD). A limited-time launch promotion brings the starting price down to 79,900 – 89,900 RMB (approximately $11,000 – $12,300 USD).

In terms of exterior design, the Changan EADO HEV maintains the core aesthetic of the current model while refining details to enhance its visual identity. The front fascia features a borderless grille adorned with horizontal dashed decorative elements, complemented by a star-ring full-width light strip and a three-section air intake, creating a strong sporty presence.

The rear adopts full-width taillights with intricate internal structures that echo the front lighting design. It is also equipped with a dual-exhaust layout and a retractable spoiler, further emphasizing its athletic character. The vehicle measures 4,785mm in length, 1,840mm in width, and 1,460mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,765mm, placing it firmly in the mainstream segment for interior space.

The interior features a wraparound cockpit design, fostering a calm and comfortable driving environment. It is equipped with a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch central touchscreen, offering a clean and sophisticated visual experience. The infotainment system runs on the Tianshu Smart Cockpit and Tianshu OS, with all models coming standard with an AI voice system powered by DeepSeek, enabling full-scenario voice interaction for a highly intelligent experience.

Regarding equipment, the Changan EADO HEV comes standard with several practical and comfort-oriented features, including a wireless charging pad, an 8-speaker sound system, 256-color ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof. It also offers heated and ventilated front seats, ensuring both comfort and convenience for daily commutes.

Under the hood, the new model utilizes an HEV hybrid system consisting of a 1.5L engine and an electric motor. The engine delivers a maximum power of 72kW, while the electric motor provides 160kW. It is paired with a 1.7kWh ternary lithium battery pack and a 1-speed DHT hybrid-specific transmission. Thanks to the efficient tuning of the hybrid system, the vehicle balances power output with fuel economy, making it suitable for both urban commuting and long-distance travel.

**Editor’s Note:**
HEV stands for Hybrid Electric Vehicle. In the Chinese market, HEVs are often viewed as a transitional technology toward full electrification. The EADO HEV operates primarily on electric power, with the engine serving as a secondary source. The system comprises a 1.5L high-compression-ratio hybrid engine, a high-flux electric drive, a high-performance battery, and an AI cloud-based control system. The vehicle is equipped with a small 1.7kWh battery that does not require external charging, as it is replenished via the engine and regenerative braking, primarily aimed at reducing overall fuel consumption. Another advantage of the HEV system is its performance; due to the electric motor, its acceleration is superior to that of traditional internal combustion engine vehicles.
