At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, GWM’s ORA brand officially expanded its lineup with the launch of the ORA 5 multi-powertrain variants. This release introduces both hybrid (HEV) and internal combustion engine (ICE) versions, significantly broadening the appeal of the model beyond its initial electric-only focus.

The hybrid version is available in two trim levels, priced between 89,800 and 99,800 RMB ($12,390 – $13,770), with a limited-time promotional price of 79,800 to 89,800 RMB ($11,010 – $12,390). The ICE version also offers two trims, priced from 79,800 to 89,800 RMB ($11,010 – $12,390), with a promotional starting price as low as 69,800 RMB ($9,630). Additionally, a special “Hou Minghao Limited Edition” was unveiled, offering ICE, Hybrid, and EV powertrains with prices ranging from 89,800 to 133,800 RMB ($12,390 – $18,460).

To support the launch, ORA is offering several purchase incentives, including trade-in subsidies of up to 10,000 RMB ($1,380), 24-month interest-free financing on loans up to 60,000 RMB ($8,280), and lifetime free basic data. For the first non-commercial owners, the ICE models come with a lifetime warranty on the engine and transmission, while hybrid models include a lifetime warranty on the engine, transmission, drive motor, battery pack, and motor controller.

Moving away from the brand’s previous “cat-inspired” cute styling, the ORA 5 adopts a more gender-neutral and international “Natural Aesthetics” design language. The vehicle measures 4,471 mm in length, 1,833 mm in width, and 1,641 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,720 mm, striking a balance between urban agility and interior spaciousness.

In terms of technology, the ORA 5 is a standout in the 100,000 RMB ($13,800) price bracket, being the first in its class to feature LiDAR. It is equipped with the third-generation Coffee Pilot Ultra driving assistance system, enabling “mapless” City NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) and 3-kilometer multi-floor memory parking. The interior experience is powered by the Coffee OS 3 system, integrated with dual large-scale AI models for a significantly enhanced intelligent interaction experience.

As the first model built on GWM’s new global platform, the ORA 5 was designed with “multi-powertrain” flexibility from the start. Beyond the versions launched today, ORA also teased a future “Sport” edition, which will feature a dual-tone body, new 20-inch five-spoke wheels, and enhanced handling performance to cater to driving enthusiasts.
