On July 25, Changan Auto‘s sub-brand, as well as its all new EV brand, the DEEPAL (means “Deep Blue” in Chinese) launched its first sedan SL03. The new car is built on the Changan EPA1 pure electric platform, positioned as a mid-sized electric sedan, and adopts rear-wheel drive. It is worth noting that the Changan DEEPAL SL03 provides three power versions: extended-range version, pure electric version and hydrogen energy version. The hydrogen energy version is the first mass-produced hydrogen fuel battery car in China, with a price range of 168,900-699,900. Yuan.

Appearance, the different power versions of the new car have basically the same overall design concept, adopting a closed front face shape, and the headlight group adopts a split design. The light group and the front surround are well integrated at the ventilation openings on both sides. For different power versions, only some details reflect the uniqueness of different versions.

On the side of the body, the overall proportion of the Changan DEEPAL SL03 is coordinated, and the smooth roof line and the nearly 2:1 window and door ratio make the new car look full of aura. In addition, it also adopts the design of hidden door handles and frameless doors. In terms of body size, the new car has a length, width and height of 4820/1890/1480mm and a wheelbase of 2900mm. It is positioned as a medium-sized car, which is a circle larger than the familiar Model 3.

For the interior, the new car adopts a full LCD instrument panel, a double-spoke multi-function steering wheel, and a 14.6-inch intelligent steering sunflower screen, giving the central control screen a maximum 15° left and right rotation function. The overall layout of the interior is also relatively simple, with black panels and gray roof matching just right.

In terms of configuration, the Changan DEEPAL SL03 will be equipped with an intelligent vehicle domain controller – Changan Smart Core and an intelligent cockpit domain controller (Qualcomm 8155 chip), and support vehicle OTA upgrades. In other configurations, the 1.9-square-meter panoramic sky screen is equipped with Low-E glass to effectively block 99% of ultraviolet rays, and the thermal insulation rate reaches 80%. Hidden air vents, 14 SONY speakers, AR-HUD, smart voice assistant, full cockpit smart scene (with 9 modes), NFC card unlocking, Bluetooth key smart induction, etc. also appear on the car.

The Changan DEEPAL SL03 pure electric version is offered by 2 models, the battery range of 705 kilometers is 215,900 yuan, and the battery life of 515 kilometers is 183,900 yuan. The range-extended version has a battery range of 1,200 kilometers and is priced at 168,900 yuan. The hydrogen-electric version with a range of 730 kilometers is 699,900 yuan.

The pure electric and extended-range versions are routinely sold on the market, and the hydrogen version will be sold at wholesale market. The pure electric version is equipped with 160kW and 190kW E-motors, and the peak torque is both 320N m. The battery capacity is offered by 58.1kWh and 79.97kWh versions, both are ternary lithium batteries, and the comprehensive cruising range is 515km and 705km.

The E-motor of hydrogen energy version has a power output of 160kW, adapt with a lithium iron phosphate battery with a power output of 28.39 kWh. The core components of the entire system are 100% localized. The hydrogen-to-electricity conversion efficiency of the system is more than 60%. 1kg of hydrogen can generate 20.5 kWh, the comprehensive operating range of the new car can reach 730km, and hydrogen fuel can be replenished in 3 minutes.

The range-extended version has a 200km pure electric range under the CLTC working condition, and the extended range mode has a comprehensive range of 1200km. The Changan DEEPAL SL03 range extension version adopts a direct connection structure between the engine and the generator. The range extender adopts a 1.5L Atkinson cycle engine with a maximum engine power of 70kW, a maximum motor power of 160kW, and a maximum motor torque of 320N m. Under the CLTC condition, it can achieve about 3.3kWh of power generation with 1L of oil, and the fuel consumption of 4.5L/100km in comprehensive driving condition.
