Changan has officially launched the NEVO Q05 (known as the Qiyuan Q05 in China) in the Thai market, marking a significant step in the brand’s global expansion strategy. The vehicle is priced between 629,900 and 709,900 Thai Baht (approximately $17,100 – $19,270 USD). As a special introductory offer, customers purchasing before June 30 can take advantage of a limited-time promotional price ranging from 599,900 to 679,900 Thai Baht (approximately $16,290 – $18,460 USD).

Following a strong performance in the domestic market, where it achieved 15,814 units in sales in April alone, the NEVO Q05 is now spearheading Changan’s international push. The company plans to enter the Uzbekistan market in June, followed by Indonesia and South America in August, with an expansion into European markets scheduled for October.

The NEVO Q05 features Changan’s “Digital Flying Wing 2.0” design language. The front end is characterized by a sleek, rounded profile, a full-width LED daytime running light bar, and a closed-off grille flanked by sharp LED headlights. It is available in five exterior colors: Pine Green, Gold Purple, Moon Silver, Cloud Grey, and Brocade White.

Measuring 4,435/1,855/1,600(1595)mm with a wheelbase of 2,735mm, the SUV boasts a low drag coefficient of 0.265Cd. The side profile incorporates semi-hidden door handles and a charging port located on the front fender. The rear is highlighted by a continuous taillight design and a roof spoiler that enhances its sporty aesthetic.

Inside, the cabin adopts a wraparound design available in Jade White or Ink Black. Technology highlights include a 14.6-inch central infotainment screen and a 10.17-inch digital instrument cluster, with support for CarPlay, HiCar, and smart home connectivity. Practicality is a core strength, offering a 540L trunk, an additional 90L under-floor storage compartment, and a maximum cargo capacity of 1,380L with the rear seats folded.

In terms of performance, the model is equipped with a 120kW electric motor, enabling a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 8.2 seconds. It features a 51.9kWh CATL battery pack, providing a range of 462km. The vehicle supports 3C fast charging—adding 120km of range in just 15 minutes—and includes a 6.6kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) function. Safety and convenience are bolstered by L2-level driver assistance features, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and autonomous emergency braking (AEB).
The NEVO Q05 will compete in Thailand against rivals such as the BYD Yuan UP (known as the ATTO 2 abroad), the Leapmotor B10, and the Jaecoo 5 EV. It aims to distinguish itself through superior interior space, advanced multimedia systems, and balanced performance.
Editor’s Commentary:
In the domestic market, the Qiyuan Q05 has achieved strong sales by offering exceptional value, bringing features like 3C fast charging, large infotainment screens, and advanced driver assistance systems to a competitive price point. As it enters the international arena, the NEVO Q05 faces a tougher challenge, competing not only against familiar domestic rivals but also against established local internal combustion and new energy vehicles. While the brand currently faces hurdles regarding international recognition, service network density, and user reputation, the model’s combination of long range, spacious interior, and practical features positions it well for the rapidly growing global new energy vehicle market.
