Changan Deepal unveiled official images of its latest model, the S09. Positioned as a large 6-seat smart family SUV, the S09 is set to compete with rivals like the Li Auto L9 and AITO M9. Equipped with Huawei’s advanced driving assist system, ADS 3.0, the S09 is expected to offer a premium driving experience. The vehicle is slated for a 2025 launch with a starting price of 350,000 yuan.
The new car’s bar-type daytime running lights clearly showcases the Deepal family design language. Adopting a split headlight design, the main headlights are positioned in the traditional fog light areas and feature a smoked finish. The entire front end is full and imposing.
The new SUV features a traditional boxy design, prioritizing interior space. It’s equipped with a LiDAR and hidden pillars, and its dimensions (5205/1996/1800mm, 3105mm wheelbase) are comparable to the Li Auto L9.
At the rear, the car maintains the classic Deepal family taillight design with a bar-type tail lights, and the tailgate opening is quite generous. The Deepal S09 also features a six-spoke wheel design inspired by the Maybach, with a large polished surface. Additionally, multi-spoke wheels are also available.
In terms of powertrain, Deepal S09 will be equipped with Deepal’s Super Extended-Range 2.0 system, featuring a new Blue Whale HE1.5T high-pressure direct-injection hybrid engine with a maximum power output of 110kW. Additionally, it will be equipped with a dual-motor four-wheel drive system, offering a combined motor output of 362kW, and a pure electric range of 170-180km. Furthermore, the new car is expected to be equipped with Huawei‘s ADS 3.0 advanced driving assistance system, similar to the AITO M9.
