At the 2021 Guangzhou Auto Show, Great Wall‘s high-end brand SHALONG (it means Salon) brought consumers its first model-Mecha Dragon (Chinese: 机甲龙). The new car is positioned as a pure electric coupe. The new car is positioned as a high-end pure electric coupe. It looks like a Nissan GT-R. It has a suggested retail price of 488,000 yuan and a limited edition of 101 cars worldwide. SHALONG brand will focus on the range of 400,000-800,000 yuan.

In terms of appearance, the new car adopts a complex and hard-line design with a very mecha style, but the overall shape is still a four-door coupe type. The official definition of the Mecha Dragon is a “high-performance mecha warrior.” In terms of details, the new car will be equipped with Michelin high-performance tires, Brembo four-piston calipers, large-size brake discs, etc., highlighting the sense of performance.

The new car will also make the world’s first model equipped with four lidars. The supplier is Huawei’s 96-line hybrid solid-state lidar. In addition, the official revealed that the new car will also have 7 8-million ultra-high-definition cameras, 4 surround-view cameras, 5 millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 1 independent high-precision positioning unit, including 38 intelligent sensing components to form a super-intelligent sensing system. It is reported that the new car will adopt the Da Vinci architecture, with NPU computing power up to 400 TOPS, and CPU computing power up to 440K DMIPS.

In terms of power, the new car will be powered by front and rear permanent magnet motors with a maximum power of 405kW (551 horsepower) and a peak torque of 750 Nm. It is equipped with a 115kWh Dayu battery pack (developed by Great Wall Motors itself) and has a maximum cruising range of 802km under CLTC conditions. In addition, the new car can also use 800V/480kW overcharge, which can increase the battery life by 401km in 10 minutes.
