Geely Unveils Galaxy Warship 700: A New Rugged Mid-Size SUV with Triple-Motor PHEV Powertrain

Geely has officially launched the Galaxy Warship 700 — a new rugged mid-size SUV designed for both on-road refinement and off-road capability. Positioned as a flagship model in Geely’s Galaxy series, the Warship 700 features a bold, boxy silhouette and an aggressive design language rooted in Chinese aesthetics.

The front end showcases the “Oriental Lion” face — a muscular, upright grille flanked by angular LED headlights dubbed “Celestial Eye.” A flat air intake sits atop the hood, accentuated by pronounced character lines to reinforce its athletic stance. Orange-accented tow hooks and front bumper inserts add functional flair, while a a roof-mounted LiDAR unit hints at advanced driver-assistance capabilities.

From the side, the Warship 700 embraces classic “box-on-wheels” proportions with crisp vertical and horizontal body lines. Traditional door handles are complemented by power-deploying running boards and a roof-mounted cargo rack. At the rear, it adopts a side-swing tailgate and an external spare tire mount — affectionately called the “backpack” — reinforcing its authentic off-road identity.

Dimensions measure 5,085 mm long, 1,999 mm wide, and 1,895–1,925 mm tall (depending on configuration), with a 2,900 mm wheelbase. Ground clearance stands at 233 mm, approach angle at 30°, and departure angle at 31° — specs aligned with serious trail use.

Inside, the cabin balances premium ergonomics and adventure-ready functionality. A two-tone, three-spoke steering wheel frames a floating central touchscreen, with physical climate and drive-mode controls retained below. The aircraft-inspired gear lever delivers tactile feedback, while adjacent buttons provide quick access to terrain modes, differential locks, and other hardcore off-road functions.

Seating is configured for five in a spacious, dual-tone layout. Door panels feature diamond-quilted leather, and speaker grilles incorporate mountain motifs with brushed-metal finishes. Optional factory-equipped features include a roll cage-style hidden roll bar, an 18.5-liter refrigerator, and over 100 OEM-compatible accessories for expedition-ready customization.

Power comes from a plug-in hybrid system with either a 2.0T (160 kW / 215 hp) or 1.5T (120 kW / 161 hp) gasoline engine paired with three electric motors — delivering all-wheel drive and a combined system output of 830 kW (1,113 hp). Standard electronic locking differentials and full-time torque vectoring ensure maximum traction across any surface.

A 47.14 kWh LFP battery pack from CATL provides pure-electric ranges of 165 km, 170 km, or 185 km (103–115 miles), depending on configuration. Pricing starts at ¥249,800 (~$34,700 USD), positioning the Warship 700 squarely between mainstream SUVs and premium off-roaders.
