At the 2026 Paris Motor Show, GAC Group officially unveiled the AION UT Cross, a new model tailored specifically for European driving conditions, while simultaneously announcing a deepened localization strategy for the European market.

The AION UT Cross features a distinct design language characterized by a closed-off front grille and rounded headlights. To align with its “Cross” positioning, the vehicle incorporates silver bumper accents, a two-tone exterior paint scheme, roof rails, and darkened multi-spoke wheels. Engineered for European roads, the model boasts a 147mm ground clearance even when fully loaded and is equipped with 225mm wide tires. In terms of performance, it offers a WLTP-rated range of 400 kilometers (approx. 249 miles), with a fast-charging capability that boosts the battery from 30% to 80% in just 24 minutes.

Beyond the new product, GAC announced a strategic partnership with Chelsea Football Club, building on its existing collaboration with Villarreal CF to strengthen its brand presence through European football culture.

GAC’s “One GAC 2.0” strategy emphasizes a “In Europe, For Europe” approach. The company has expanded its footprint to 30 European countries, with a primary focus on the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. GAC plans to establish over 180 sales and service outlets across Europe by the end of the year. Furthermore, the company is localizing its operations through its Milan design center and a newly operational factory in Austria.

To support its expansion, GAC introduced “GAC CARE+,” a global service brand promising comprehensive support throughout the vehicle ownership lifecycle. This includes a 3-year free roadside assistance program in partnership with Allianz Partners, a 95% parts fulfillment rate via its Rotterdam distribution center, and a robust warranty package: 8 years/160,000 km for the vehicle, 8 years/200,000 km for the battery, and a 10-year unlimited mileage anti-corrosion warranty.
