General Motors’s Buick brand is very popular in China market, Buick Verano is discontinued in US market, but it still received a facelift today in Chinese market, so the Buick Verano now becomes a “China-Exclusive” model in Buick family. GM’s Chinese joint venture, SAIC-GM, launched “all-new” 2020 Buick Verano in China, it offers total 4 trims with price range of 152,900-182,900 yuan (~US$21,393 – 25,591).
2020 Buick Verano is actually a mid-gen refresh in China, it is changed mainly in the front and rear, from the appearance, the new car features Buick’s latest family design language, the grille features a dot matrix design to enhance the three-dimensional sense of the front face, the iconic flying wing chrome strip extends to the headlights and echoes the chrome trim of the lower bumper. In addition, the air intake under the grille has been redesigned with two outreach chrome strips to widen the front face.
In terms of size, the length, width and height are 4723/1802/1466mm and the wheelbase is 2700mm.
The interior design has always been Buick’s strength, Buick Verano follows the design style of the current model, mainly upgrading the material. The outgoing dark wood plaque is replaced by a carbon fiber-like material, which highlights its sporty sense. In terms of intelligent configuration, the new Buick Verano is equipped with Buick eConnect 2.0 interconnection technology, 8-inch high-definition touch screen is standard configuration, it supports OTA remote upgrade, Apple CarPlay and Baidu CarLife mobile phone mapping and other car-linking functions.
Two sets of powertrain are available
In terms of power, 2020 Buick Verano China spec is powered by 1.0-liter turbo three-cylinder and 1.3-liter turbo three-cylinder engines, the maximum power is 92kW(123hp) and 121kW(162hp) respectively, the peak torque is 180 Nm and 240 Nm respectively. The transmission is matched with the 6AT or CVT gearbox.
