JAC Automobile announced the pre-sale price of RMB 155,000-180,000 (~US$21,370 – 25,644) for JAC iC5, the company’s all new pure electric compact sedan coinciding with the start of online sales on the JAC Automobile app.

JAC iC5 is actually inherited from JAC’s latest sedan model Jiayue A5, the new car was first unveiled during the 2019 Guangzhou Auto Show. The iC5 will come equipped with a ternary lithium battery with a 64.5kWh capacity with a 530km (329miles) NEDC range.
Appearance-wise, style and shape are similar to the current model. From the front, JAC iC5 uses the closed front mid-net design used in new energy models which sets it apart from the fuel version. The charging port is also set out in front. A triangle accent further differentiates it from the fuel version model.
From the sides, the iC5 has a set of conventional, five-spoke 17-inch wheels for 215/55 R17 size tires. From the rear, a layered design coupled with penetrating headlights and a sleek-back trunk make for a rugged appearance.
Inside the new car, a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel and 10.4 inch vetical control large screen are prominent. The central control section was simplified with fewer buttons. The central control screen carries information from rich networking functions.
Under the hood, one can find the permanent magnet synchronous motor capable of 204 horsepower and peak torque of 340 N · m, giving the car the capability to accelerate to 100km/hr in 7.6 seconds. The power battery is a 64.5kWh ternary lithium battery that uses a 21700 battery for its single cell.
In the power section, the new car is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 204 horsepower and a peak torque of 340 N · m. Its 0-100km / h acceleration time is 7.6 seconds. The car’s power battery is a ternary lithium battery with a capacity of 64.5kWh. Its single cell uses a 21700 battery. The system energy density is 240Wh / kg. Under NEDC conditions, it can provide the vehicle with a 530km range.
Configurations-wise, the iC5 has a panoramic sunroof, two-tone body, 350 degree reversing image, and keyless entry system. Its physical dimensions are 4770mm long, 1820mm wide, and 1514mm high with a 2760mm wheelbase.
The term “iC” reads literally as “I see” which in the JAC iC5 means “I understand”. It reflects the JAC objective of making cars that resonate with the consumer.
