At the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, Hongqi launched the Jinkuihua brand (Chinese says “金葵花” meaning “Golden Sunflower”), including the officially renamed Hongqi L5 model as Hongqi Guo Li (Chinese “国礼”). The Jinkuihua National Guest Car fleet consists of four models: “Guo Ya”, “Guo Yao“, “Guo Li” and the luxury limousine “Guo Yue”.
Exterior Design
The design of the Hongqi Guo Li is more upscale, with a significantly heavier front face. The entire grille is raised, significantly enhancing the visual impact. The classic retro round headlights are retained, and even the style of the lampshades remains the same. The design of the turn signals has been re-optimized and integrated with the fog lights, and the bumper has also been redesigned.
The side design of the car body seems to have not changed much, but it can be felt that the body size has been further extended, especially the rear space has been significantly extended, and it can be seen that the rear window has been significantly extended. At the rear of the car, the Hongqi Guo Li looks more coordinated, the taillights are no longer too abrupt, and the taillights are also moved upwards, and the exhaust is also optimized, making it look more harmonious with the overall feel of the car. In terms of body size, the new car is 5980/2090/1710mm long, wide and high, with a wheelbase of 3730mm.
Interior Design
The interior style is extremely unique, with the entire center console adopting a dual-screen. The wood grain decoration is still retained in the car, but all the physical buttons are concentrated in the central gear area. The seats look wide, and the texture and color scheme show Chinese elements. The rear seats have been re-optimized and turned into two independent seats. The backrest and fore-aft angles of the seats can be adjusted. There is a wide armrest in the middle, which can control the air conditioning and multimedia system of the vehicle.
Powertrain
The new car is equipped with a 4.0T turbocharged V8 engine with a maximum power of 388 horsepower (285 kilowatts). It has high-precision balance combustion technology, cylinder block “Y”-shaped quasi-round high-rigidity structure, two-stage three-layer double-sided silent chain timing system, etc.
