FAW Yueyi 08 has officially rolled off the production line. Positioned as the brand’s flagship sedan under the R-series product line, it will be offered with both pure electric and extended-range (EREV) powertrains, and is equipped with an intelligent driving assistance system co-developed with Horizon Robotics. Pre-sales are expected to commence at the end of May.

From the outside, the Yueyi 08 adopts a completely fresh design language. The closed front grille paired with the “Galaxy Waterfall Lighting Array” gives the car a strong visual identity. Depending on the trim level, the model will also offer a LiDAR module and the aforementioned Horizon Robotics co-developed ADAS system.

Moving to the side profile, the sedan features frameless aerodynamic side mirrors, semi-hidden flush door handles, and frameless power soft-close doors. These are paired with 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels and orange brake calipers. In terms of dimensions, the new car measures 4,920mm in length, 1,920mm in width, and 1,475mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,900mm. Out back, it sports a full-width LED taillight cluster and a power-operated fastback tailgate, enhancing both visual depth and cargo-carrying practicality.
Inside, the cabin adopts a wraparound cockpit design, featuring a slim full-digital instrument cluster, a large floating center touchscreen (powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P in-car chip), and a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel. The overall ambiance strikes a solid balance between tech-forward design and modern aesthetics. The center console also includes a wireless phone charging pad and dual cupholders for everyday convenience.
On the powertrain front, the Yueyi 08 will offer both a fully electric version and an extended-range electric variant. The BEV model is powered by a drive motor producing 202 kW (about 271 hp). The EREV version pairs a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine (70 kW / ~94 hp generator output) with a 27.8 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, delivering a WLTC-rated pure electric range of 178 km (approximately 111 miles).
