Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroen Automobile (DPCA) has officially registered a new subsidiary, Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroen Technology (Wuhan) Co., Ltd., in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone. The new entity, established with a registered capital of nearly 8.2 billion yuan (approximately $1.15 billion), marks a significant step in the company’s ongoing strategic transformation.

According to business registration filings, the company is structured as a limited liability company involving foreign investment. Its business scope is broad, covering the research and development of automotive components and the sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs). Huang Yong, who serves as a standing committee member and deputy general manager of Dongfeng Motor Group, as well as chairman of DPCA, has been appointed as the legal representative of the new company.

This development follows a strategic cooperation agreement signed on May 15 by Dongfeng Motor Group, Stellantis, DPCA, and several Wuhan-based investment groups. The partnership, backed by a total investment exceeding 8 billion yuan ($1.12 billion), aims to accelerate the intelligent, international, and green transformation of DPCA. The roadmap includes the launch of new energy models under the Peugeot brand starting in 2027, the introduction of global Jeep brand models, and the establishment of a dedicated R&D center and a Jeep brand sales company in Wuhan.

Industry analysts view this joint venture as a strategic synergy, combining Dongfeng’s core expertise in new energy and intelligent technologies with Stellantis’s century-old European brand heritage and extensive global sales network.
