Dongfeng Citroen to Export Citroen C5 X to EU Market

We learned from Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Auto Company (Shenlong Motors) that a new batch of China produced Citroen C5 X will be exported, and this batch of new cars will be supplied to the European market in the future.

It is reported that the exported 1,222 Citroen C5 X of overseas specifications will leave the Chengdu plant of Shenlong Motors on March 2. They will leave Shanghai port and finally arrive at the Dutch port of Dazeebrugge, and will be distributed to Stellantis Group in Europe. It is expected that by the end of this year, Shenlong will export to 45 countries and regions in the world, and the export volume will exceed one third of the output of this model in the Chengdu plant.

As early as September 2021, the first European exhibition vehicles of the C5 X have been shipped to 8 European countries for auto show. In 2021, a total of 1,238 Citroen C5 X have been exported overseas. “This time, 1,222 Citroen C5 X vehicles were exported overseas, breaking the record for a single vehicle export in the history of Shenlong. It is expected that by the end of this year, the total export volume of C5 X will exceed three times the output of this model in the Chengdu plant. Based on the third-generation EMP2 platform, the C5 X is a brand-new crossover-style mid-size sedan owned by Dongfeng Citroen. After the official launch in September 2021 in the Chinese market, by the end of 2021, the cumulative delivery of C5 X reached 12,114 units in the Chinese market.
