On October 29th, 2024, Xiaomi unveiled the mass-production version of the SU7 Ultra at its new product launch event, opening pre-orders at a price of 814,900 yuan (~US$114,200). The EV is set for official release in March 2025. While based on the SU7’s exterior, the SU7 Ultra is not a higher-end version of the SU7 MAX. Instead, it incorporates the racing performance and technology of the SU7 Ultra prototype. Equipped with the same dual V8s + V6s tri-motor all-wheel-drive system as the prototype, the new car can output 1548 horsepower. Previously, Xiaomi announced that the SU7 Ultra prototype achieved a lap time of 6 minutes and 46.874 seconds at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, making it the world’s fastest four-door vehicle on the track. This has generated significant anticipation for the SU7 Ultra’s performance. Within 10 minutes of the launch event, the SU7 Ultra mass-production version had already received over 3680 pre-orders.
Xiaomi SU7 Ultra’s design is characterized by a bold color scheme, combining a vibrant yellow exterior with dark racing stripes. Blacked-out accents throughout the vehicle complement its aggressive styling. The car’s aerodynamic profile is highlighted by a prominent front lip and a unique dual “U” design. A carbon fiber roof, equipped with LiDAR, not only reduces weight but also enhances the vehicle’s aerodynamic efficiency. With 17 carbon fiber components, the SU7 Ultra generates an impressive 285 kg of downforce.
The side profile of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra bears a strong resemblance to the standard SU7. However, it features a redesigned side skirt with racing stripes and an “Ultra” logo, emphasizing its performance-oriented nature. Additional design cues include unique “U”-shaped five-spoke wheels with yellow accents and a “U”-shaped emblem on the front fender. Dimensionally, the SU7 Ultra measures 5115mm in length, 1970mm in width, and 1465mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3000mm. Compared to the standard SU7 (4997/1963/1455/1440mm, wheelbase: 3000mm), the Ultra version is slightly larger in all dimensions except for the wheelbase.
Moving on to the braking system and suspension, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is equipped with carbon ceramic brake discs and Brembo calipers (six-piston front, four-piston rear). According to the manufacturer, the carbon ceramic discs can withstand temperatures exceeding 1300 degrees Celsius. Additionally, the vehicle offers an optional Bilstein EVO T1 coilover suspension system, which strikes a balance between on-road comfort and track performance. The suspension features a 10-way adjustable knob for fine-tuning to various road conditions and driving styles.
The rear of the SU7 Ultra boasts a carbon fiber rear spoiler that contributes to its sporty aesthetic. While slightly less pronounced than the prototype, it still provides substantial downforce. The vehicle’s rear diffuser and other aerodynamic components, finished in a contrasting black and yellow color scheme, further enhance its aggressive appearance. The rear end is adorned with a blacked-out “SU7 Ultra” badge and a racing stripe that complements the front design.
The SU7 Ultra’s interior exudes a sporty and luxurious ambiance with a predominantly black and yellow color scheme. The cabin is meticulously crafted with extensive use of premium materials, including carbon fiber and Alcantara, totaling 17 carbon fiber components and 5 square meters of Alcantara. Upgraded sports seats, a sports steering wheel, and a customized cockpit UI enhance the driving experience. The vehicle is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip, Xiaomi hyperOS, and Xiaomi Pilot intelligent driving system with two Orin X chips, offering advanced connectivity and autonomous driving features. To further reduce weight and enhance performance, the vehicle omits the panoramic sunroof and features leather-wrapped door armrests.
In terms of powertrain, Xiaomi SU7 Ultra production version adopts the same tri-motor system, track-spec battery, and thermal management system as the prototype. Equipped with a dual V8s + V6s tri-motor all-wheel-drive system, the vehicle delivers a maximum output of 1548 horsepower. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.98 seconds, 0 to 200 km/h in 5.86 seconds, and covers a quarter-mile in 9.23 seconds. The top speed exceeds 350 km/h. The vehicle offers a CLTC range of 620 km with an energy consumption of 16.5 kWh/100 km. It has a curb weight of less than 2400 kg, a turning radius of 11.7 meters, and a braking distance of 30.8 meters. With a maximum charging rate of 5.2C and an 897V high-voltage architecture, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in 11 minutes. The vehicle is also equipped with a tri-motor torque vectoring system that can adjust motor torque 500 times per second, with a response time of only 15 ms from 0% to 90%. The track mode provides real-time lap time display and supports external sound output.
