China’s Hummer? Dongfeng Mengshi MS600 officially launched

On February 18, Dongfeng Mengshi MS600 was officially launched. The new car launched a total of 4 models with a price range of 486,800 to 638,800 yuan in the Chinese market. As the second model of Dongfeng Mengshi‘s new civilian product series, it will be built on the new “MS-1” technology platform, which is a new platform independently developed by Dongfeng Mengshi for the civilian field on the basis of the military platform. It is worth mentioning that the Dongfeng Mengshi SUV model MS20, which was built and modified based on the Dongfeng Mengshi MS600, was also unveiled at this event.

In terms of parameters, the length, width and height of the long rear overhang model are 5970/2160/2155mm, and the wheelbase is 3700mm; the length, width and height of the short rear overhang model are 5850/2160/2155mm, and the wheelbase is 3700mm.

The new car adopts a non-load-bearing body. The unloaded mass of the single-row chassis is 3,750kg, and the designed loading mass is greater than 2,000kg; the unloaded mass of the double-row chassis is 3,915kg, and the designed loading mass is greater than 1,850kg. The approach angle of the new car is 33 degrees, the departure angle is 32/26 degrees (long rear overhang) 36/31 degrees (short rear overhang), the longitudinal passing angle is 25/22.5 degrees, the wading depth is greater than 800mm, and the vertical obstacle clearance height is greater than 400mm. The width of the trench is greater than 700mm.

In terms of power, Dongfeng Mengshi MS600 will be powered by a Dongfeng Cummins 6.7T turbocharged inline six-cylinder diesel engine with a rated power of 231kW, a maximum torque of 1050N.m, and a maximum speed of more than 140km/h. The transmission system will be matched with a 6-speed gearbox and a 4-speed transfer case, and will be equipped with a central differential lock. The chassis is equipped with front and rear double wishbone independent suspension with stabilizer bar and thrust bar.

The Mengshi MS20 model was also unveiled at the press conference. The front part of the new car is the same as that of the MS600, with a large-size air intake grille and split light groups on both sides. The whole car is based on the MS600 short rear overhang chassis.
