The latest filing from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has revealed key range and powertrain specifications for the upcoming Denza Z9S. According to the document, the vehicle will be equipped with a 102.326 kWh battery pack, enabling a maximum CLTC-rated range of up to 920 kilometers. The new model is expected to hit the market later this year.

The filing indicates that the Denza Z9S will be available in two primary configurations: a rear-wheel-drive single-motor version and a tri-motor all-wheel-drive version featuring BYD’s “e3” (Yi San Fang) technology. Both variants utilize the same 102.326 kWh battery. The single-motor model achieves a CLTC range of 920 km, while the more performance-oriented tri-motor version offers a CLTC range of 780 km.

In terms of design, the Z9S adheres to the family aesthetic established by the Z9. It features slim, dual-strip LED headlights, with the main high and low beam units integrated into the sides of the front bumper. The front fascia is characterized by a full-width panel design paired with a two-stage front lip. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with LiDAR for advanced driver-assistance capabilities.
At the rear, the Z9S incorporates roof-mounted sensing hardware and slim, dual-strip taillights that mirror the front lighting signature. The vehicle measures 5,090 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width, and 1,490 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,025 mm. Compared to the current Denza Z9, the Z9S is 145 mm shorter, 10 mm narrower, 28 mm lower, and features a wheelbase that is 100 mm shorter.
Other notable features include a panoramic sunroof, an electrically deployable rear spoiler, various side mirror and door handle designs, and a selection of 20-inch and 21-inch alloy wheels. Performance-wise, the rear-wheel-drive single-motor model delivers a peak power of 370 kW (approx. 496 hp), while the tri-motor AWD version boasts a combined output of 890 kW (approx. 1,193 hp).
