On July 17, 2019, Zhengzhou-Nissan Dongfeng Rich pickup truck EV and Rich 6 pickup EV officially launched. Among them, Dongfeng Rich pickup EV is priced at 269,800 yuan (~USD39,208); Dongfeng Rich 6 pickup EV officially opened for pre-sale, and the pre-sale price is 299,800 yuan (~US$43,567). Both of them are pure electric drive, the maximum power of Dongfeng Rich pickup EV is 85kW (116ps) and range of 305km (189miles); while the max. power of Rich 6 EV is 120kW (163ps) and range of 403km (250miles).

Although both of them are produced by Zhenzhou-Nissan, but both of them have Dongfeng badge, we think this is similar to the strategy on some of GAC and its joint ventures’ EVs we have reported in the past.
The appearance of Dongfeng Rich Pickup EV or Rich 6 EV don’t change to much, both are updated grille and badge with blue embellishment, of course the grills are fake in closed status as they are pure EVs.
Body size of Rick Pickup EV: 5095/1820/1675mm, wheelbase of 3050mm,
Body size of Rich 6 Pickup EV are 5290mm/1850mm/1790mm, and the wheelbase is 3150mm. It is bigger than Rich pickup EV in overall.
Size of both pickup EV are much similar to their fuel versions.
Entering the car, the overall design layout of the Rich pickup EV continues the design of the fuel version. The most attractive is the metal brushed panel that runs through the center console and the circular air conditioning vents, creating a stylish and dynamic interior style.
Compared with Dongfeng Rich pickup EV, the interior of Rich 6 pickup EV is more luxurious, and the large-area soft material is wrapped and feels very good. In addition, the addition of a large-size central control screen and chrome trim adds a touch of modernity to the interior. In terms of configuration, Dongfeng Rich 6 pickup EV is equipped with a large-size central control display, a full LCD instrument panel (3 themes), reversing images, parking radar, side pedals and other practical configurations. Leather seats and a multi-function steering wheel are also available to enhance everyday convenience and comfort.
Dongfeng Rich pickup EV is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 85kW (116Ps) and maximum torque of 290Nm. In terms of cruising range, the total power of the ternary lithium-ion battery pack is 62.7kWh, and the range under the comprehensive working condition is 305km.
Dongfeng Rich 6 pickup EV is also powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 120kW (163Ps) and maximum torque of 420Nm. In terms of cruising range, the ternary lithium-ion battery pack from CATL, the total power is 67.9kWh, the range under comprehensive working condition is 403km, almost equal to the level of ordinary electric cars, to meet the daily travel without problem.
As we introduced upon, the two all-electric pickups are made by Dongfeng-Nissan, but they all hang the Dongfeng badge, and the price is not cheap. From the current Chinese market situation, we don’t know who will buy them…
