With the increasing number of players, the competition in China’s electric vehicle market has gradually intensified, consumers’ demand for EV is also constantly upgrading: from the initial solution to basic transportation needs, to the escaping of mileage anxiety, to the design and driving of electric vehicles. All-round appeals such as quality and scientific content… Whether it is a traditional car maker or Chinese new force auto maker, if the product cannot be upgraded in time, it will be abandoned by the market. At this point, BYD Auto, one of the earliest auto makers in the research and development and production of new energy vehicles in China, has never neglected the existing models after continuously introducing new products.
The BYD Yuan EV finally received a facelift, the BYD Yuan EV535, whose range has been upgraded to 410 kilometers, but its improvement is not limited to range. Although from the appearance point of view, the new car looks like no difference with Yuan EV360, but it DID refresh a loft such as the dashboard, the central control screen and the gear-lever are all upgraded, let’s take a look.
The appearance looks little different from Yuan EV360, the changes are mainly concentrated on details such as the headlight source and the front bumper area.
Although the shape of head lamp set has not changed, Yuan EV535 has upgraded the headlight source to matrix LED headlights except the entry model (can be also optional LED headlights), which looks more spiritual. The turn signal lights are integrated into the headlights.
The change of the interior of BYD Yuan EV535 is far greater than the appearance, not only the hardware upgrade, but also the layout of the central control and the central tunnel are also significantly different from BYD Yuan EV360. The new instrument, the rotatable central control screen, and the new gear-lever style… make the EV535 look like a new generation YUAN EV.
The 10.1-inch floating rotatable LCD screen greatly enhances the quality and technical sense. The highly integrated screen is not only good for visual effects and actual use, but also replaced the physic buttons on the Yuan EV360, making the center console look simple and clear.
The gear lever style on the central tunnel has also been redesigned, the handle is wider and wrapped with leather. The handle feeling is obviously improved. The shift lock button at the front of gear lever is also in line with the operation logic. Air conditioning shortcut buttons, driving mode selection, push-button starter and electronic handbrakes are all integrated around the gear lever.
The permanent magnet synchronous motor equipped with BYD Yuan EV535 is offered in two potencies. The lower-powered version has maximum power of 70kW (93hp) and maximum torque of 180N·m. The higher-powered version has maximum power of 120kW (160hp) and maximum torque of 280N·m. The 0-50km/h acceleration time declared by official is 3.9s (0-100km/h acceleration time did not announce). The ternary lithium battery power increased from 42kWh to 53.22kWh, and its energy density increased from 146.27Wh/kg to 160Wh/kg. The manufacturer’s data shows that it takes only 30 minutes to charge from 30%-80% amount in fast charging mode. NEDC cruising range increased from 189miles(305km) to 254miles(410km).
The price of BYD Yuan EV535 starts at 109900 end at 129900 yuan (~US$15,878 – US$18,768) in China market.
