The latest filing from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has revealed the first images of BYD’s upcoming flagship sedan, currently referred to as the “Da Han” (a temporary name, with an official naming contest running from June 4 to June 11). Positioned as the pinnacle of the Dynasty series, this new model boasts impressive dimensions, measuring 5,256 mm in length with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm, and will be available in both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and battery electric (BEV) configurations.

The exterior design aligns with expectations, featuring the latest iteration of the Dynasty family aesthetic. The front fascia is highlighted by a signature full-width light bar for high brand recognition, complemented by an active grille and functional side air vents. With dimensions of 5,256/1,999/1,510 mm, the vehicle’s low-slung profile and flared wheel arches create a planted, aggressive stance that emphasizes its sporty character.

At the rear, the car continues the family design language with a full-width taillight assembly featuring an intricate “Chinese knot” internal pattern. The lower bumper adopts a three-section design to enhance the sporty aesthetic, with the PHEV variant featuring a hidden exhaust system. Other notable exterior details include semi-concealed door handles. The curb weight for the PHEV models ranges from 2,210 kg to 2,260 kg, while the BEV versions weigh between 2,260 kg and 2,505 kg.
In terms of powertrain, the PHEV version pairs a 1.5T engine with an electric motor. The engine delivers a maximum power of 115 kW, while the motor provides 200 kW. Equipped with a 54.489 kWh battery pack, it offers a WLTC-rated pure electric range of 370 km. The BEV version will be available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. The RWD model features a motor with 370 kW of power, while the AWD model adds a front motor, bringing the total output to 200 kW at the front and 370 kW at the rear. Based on previously leaked information, the BEV is expected to offer range options of 800 km and 1,008 km. Additionally, the vehicle will offer an optional two-tone paint scheme and comes standard with 20-inch wheels, with an optional floating center cap. The BEV version can also be upgraded to 21-inch “disc-style” wheels.
