On August 30, 2024, the Chengdu Auto Show officially kicked off. The most anticipated model at this auto show is undoubtedly BYD‘s new flagship MPV, the Xia. The new car is expected to start at 300,000 RMB (~US$42,000) and will be officially launched this year.
In terms of appearance, the vehicle adopts the Dynasty family’s “Dragon Face” design style, with a 3D structure paint finish and a semi-transparent smoked front “dragon whisker” trim, creating a strong sense of layering. The grille adopts a dragon scale armor style, which is very domineering.
The BYD Xia has dimensions of 5145/1970/1805mm and a wheelbase of 3045mm. It also features a hidden sliding rail, enhancing its aesthetics. The biggest highlight of the rear is its taillights, which still adopt a Chinese knot design and achieve a 3D display through laser engraving technology.
BYD Xia is built on BYD’s new generation of plug-in hybrid vehicle platform, using a plug-in hybrid-exclusive body structure and equipped with the Yunnian-C intelligent damping body control system. In addition, the vehicle will also be equipped with the DiPilot intelligent driving assistance system and DiLink 150 intelligent cockpit, as well as a high-performance chip. Finally, the vehicle will be equipped with the 5th generation DM (dual-mode) plug-in hybrid technology. We will continue to follow and report on more information about the new car.
