BYD has unveiled the interior design sketches for the second-generation Seagull, showcasing a complete overhaul that prioritizes cabin space and functional versatility. While maintaining the core design DNA of its predecessor, the new model features significant upgrades across its dimensions, exterior styling, and powertrain.

The interior adopts a vibrant, multi-tone color scheme, moving away from the previous generation’s aesthetic. The cabin features a minimalist two-spoke steering wheel and a large, floating central infotainment screen, while the traditional instrument cluster has been removed. The center console retains essential physical buttons and integrates a wireless charging pad. Notably, the area beneath the center console has been redesigned to offer expanded storage, significantly boosting daily utility. The vehicle also adopts traditional door handle designs.

On the exterior, the second-generation Seagull retains the series‘ signature front-end architecture but introduces new trident-style daytime running lights and projector headlamps. The hood features more aggressive sculpting, and the front bumper has been re-engineered to include functional air ducts. Additionally, the roof is now equipped with a LiDAR sensor, hinting at advanced driver-assistance capabilities.

The side profile preserves the iconic window silhouette of the original Seagull, though the waistline has been simplified to create a more forward-leaning, dynamic stance. The vehicle has grown significantly in size, measuring 4,205 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width, and 1,570 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm. This represents an increase of 425 mm in length, 95 mm in width, and 150 mm in wheelbase compared to the current model, allowing for a more spacious five-seat configuration.

At the rear, the tailgate glass area has been enlarged, and the roofline extends into a rear spoiler. The taillight design has been updated, moving away from the previous full-width light bar, and the rear bumper has been reshaped for a cleaner look.

Powering the new Seagull is an upgraded pure electric drivetrain. The permanent magnet synchronous motor (model TZ164XYB), produced by Zhengzhou BYD Auto, delivers a maximum output of 95 kW—a 40 kW increase over the current model—enabling a top speed of 150 km/h. The vehicle utilizes lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries supplied by FinDreams Battery.
