BYD officially released its pure electric small SUV BYD S2 on On 16th April. BYD S2 made its debut on 2019 Shanghai Auto Show. The new car adopts BYD’s latest Dragon Face family-style design language. The overall design style is much similar to the current BYD YUAN EV. It is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 94 hp (70 kW).
BYD S2 basically follows the design style of the current BYD Yuan EV model, only adjusted in the details. The front face adopts the BYD latest Dragon Face family design, the large mouth grille with long and narrow headlights on both sides makes the car more fashionable. The blue dot “BYD” badge is hung on the upper edge of the front grille, which is differ to Dynasty series Chinese character badge, so it is expected that the car will be positioned lower than the current BYD Yuan EV.
In terms of interiors, BYD S2 also adopts a design style similar to BYD Tang/Song/Yuan, the overall shape is very simple. In terms of details, the car uses a 10.1-inch central control LCD display (rotary / built-in 8-core processor, internal DiLink intelligent network system), at the same time, the circular air conditioning air outlets on the left and right sides also enhance the sporty texture. In addition, the knob-shift style makes the new car look younger.
In terms of body size, it claimed 4110/1785/1680mm and a wheelbase of 2535mm.
In terms of power, according to the previous report, BYD S2 will use a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 94 hp (70 kW) and a ternary lithium battery for the power battery. The range under comprehensive working condition is 189miles (305km), the maximum speed can reach 101km/h.
