Recently, BYD delivered 406 pure electric buses in Bogota, the capital of Colombia. At present, a total of 1,048 BYD electric buses have been put into operation in Bogota, serving 425,000 citizens. In addition, the operation of this fleet will also create more than 1,100 local jobs.

The pure electric bus fleet delivered this time consists of 271 9-meter pure electric buses with a capacity of 50 passengers and 135 12-meter pure electric buses with a capacity of 80 passengers, serving 14 bus routes. The fleet will help reduce local emissions by 6.5 tons of particulate matter and 17,000 tons of carbon dioxide annually.
It is expected that by the end of 2022, BYD will deliver a total of 1,472 pure electric buses in Bogota, which will help the local area reduce more than 94,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year, which is equivalent to the carbon dioxide emissions generated when 42,000 private cars are driven at the same time.
