BMW-Brilliance Automotive (or BBA) released the interior of the medium-sized car, the new generation 3 Series long-wheelbase version (codename G28). It is understood that the new BMW 3 will become the first model in China market to carry “BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant”. “BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant” will create a new digital interactive way for drivers and passengers with the 7th generation iDrive human-computer interaction system to reinterpret BMW’s fun driving experience. In addition, the new generation of BMW 3 Series standard-wheelbase version (codename G20) and long-wheelbase version (code G28) will be unveiled on 2019 Shanghai Auto Show officially.
As a Chinese-built 3-series LWB, the new BMW 3 Series Long-wheelbase is the exclusive version in China market. BMW 3 Series Long-wheelbase version basically follows the design style of the new 3-series overseas standard-wheelbase version. It adopts a brand-new headlight group shape, it is outlined by L-shaped daytime running lights, the new “angel eye” shape is more sharp and fierce than the current model, the iconic “twin kidney” grille become wider and is decorated with an integrated bright black chrome.
Although wheelbase is again extended, the proportion of the side of is still coordinated, the lines are stretched and smooth. In the rear part, the new car uses a straight and sharp taillight group outline, the internal L-shaped red light strip creates a sharp visual effect. The M-suite version also features a color-coded black plaque and venting holes on both sides. It is equipped with a small spoiler and a two-way exhaust layout for better visual effects.
In terms of interiors, the 2019 new BMW 3 Series long-wheelbase basically follows the main design of the overseas version, it bring us some freshness through some details. For example, the new floating LCD screen with the new shape of the electronic bar and the three-spoke multi-function steering wheel with the “M” logo make the new car look very young and sporty. In the central control part, the air outlet and physical button control area are “sinking” compared to the current models, leaving more space for the upper large-size floating central control LCD screen.
In addition, we can see that additional two USB charging ports are available at the rear air conditioning vents and seat heating function is added, with new air headrests, panoramic sunroofs and dynamic scenarios that can be changed with the driving situation. The addition of the ambient light allows the rear passengers to fully relax.
In terms of size, the new 3 Series long-wheelbase version measures 4829/1827/1463mm, wheelbase reaches 2961mm. The overall size is improved compared to the current 3 Series long-wheelbase version. The wheelbase of the new generation 3 Series long-wheelbase China-spec is as much as 110mm longer than the overseas version,.
In terms of power, the new BMW 3 Series long-wheelbase, which has been declared, is powered with the new B-series 2.0litre turbo engine (B48B20B). Its maximum power is 184 hp as same as the current BMW 320i/Li China-spec. In terms of transmission, it is still matched with the 8-speed automatic transmission.
