On August 25th, 2023, at the Chengdu Auto Show, the Jiyue 01 made its debut. Jiyue 01 is positioned as a pure electric mid to large SUV and built based on SEA’s vast architecture. Jiyue is a new brand jointly created by Geely and Baidu, officially defined as a “strategic cooperation project for automotive robots“. The first model, Jiyue 01, will become the successor of Jidu ROBO-01.
In terms of appearance, the new car is basically consistent with the Jidu ROBO-01, with a closed grille design and a T-shaped headlight assembly, giving it a strong overall sense of technology. The split design between the hood and front bumper adds more details and refinement to the front face. In addition, the new car is equipped with two LiDARs, multiple 8 million high-definition pixel cameras, and a total of 31 sensors.
The side of the car adopts a floatingroof design, and also adopts hidden door handles. The side skirt adopts an upward pulling design, which tightens the side of the vehicle, giving it a simple and muscular appearance. The body dimensions are 4853/1990/1611mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 3000mm. The tail adopts through type tail lights, with a very simple overall design. The rear trunk space reaches 555L, and the seats can be extended to 1528L when folded down.
The interior also adopts a simple design, featuring a U-shaped steering wheel and a 35.6-inch slender all-in-one center console screen. Jiyue 01 comes standard with Qualcomm’s fourth generation Snapdragon digital cockpit platform – the 8295 chip. Qualcomm 8295 is the first automotive grade chip to mass produce a 5nm process, with an AI computing power of 30TOPS, nearly 8 times better performance than the previous generation product, and supports immersive 3D interaction. In addition, the new car is also equipped with the latest intelligent technology from Baidu Apollo and paired with the NVIDIA Orin X intelligent driving chip.
In terms of power, the new car will provide single motor and dual motor versions, with a maximum power of 200kW for a single motor, and 200kW for both motors in the dual motor version. The new car will use 100kWh battery from CATL, with a maximum range of 600km. The maximum power of the dual motor is 400kW, and the acceleration time from 0-100km/h is 3.9s.
