Beijing Off-Road has launched a major promotional campaign for the BJ30 Traveler, offering a 30,000 yuan ($4,170) trade-in subsidy that drops the effective starting price to just ¥69,900 ($9,700). The model’s official list price begins at ¥99,900 ($13,900).

Positioned as a compact SUV with a unibody city-SUV construction, the BJ30 Traveler blends rugged off-road styling with refined detailing. Up front, the signature five-slot grille integrates seamlessly with a full-width LED light bar, creating what the brand calls the “Five-Star Ring” face — a look that’s both purposeful and distinctive.

The side profile follows the popular “box with rounded corners” formula, giving it a tough yet approachable stance. Dimensionally, the BJ30 Traveler measures 4,730 mm long, 1,910 mm wide, and 1,790 mm tall, riding on a 2,820 mm wheelbase — generous proportions for the compact segment.

Out back, buyers can choose from three tailgate treatments: a spare tire carrier, a compact storage box (“little backpack”), or a clean bumper-mounted look. The vertical taillights are instantly recognizable, and the black rear diffuser adds a touch of crossover attitude.

Inside, the dashboard features a mountain-peak pattern that nods to the Traveler nameplate. A 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster pairs with a 14.6-inch central touchscreen powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, supporting the Yueye Circle app for connectivity. The yacht-style shifter and turbine-shaped ATS all-terrain control knob add a premium tactile feel.

The BJ30 Traveler is available in both 5-seat and 7-seat configurations, catering to different family needs. Power comes from two choices: a pure gasoline version and an oil-electric hybrid. The fuel engine model uses a 1.5T turbocharged engine producing 188 hp (138 kW) and 305 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The hybrid variant teams the same 1.5T engine with either a single or dual electric motor setup, delivering system outputs of 335 hp (246 kW) / 550 Nm or 409 hp (301 kW) / 685 Nm respectively. All-wheel-drive models come equipped with the ATS all-terrain control system, offering four off-road driving modes.
