According to the website of the State Administration for Market Supervision, Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. recently filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the requirements of the “Regulations on the Administration of Recalls of Defective Automobile Products” and the “Implementation Measures of the Regulations on the Administration of Recalls of Defective Automobile Products” . With immediate effect, 21,599 China produced Model Y electric vehicles with a production date between February 4, 2021 and October 30, 2021 will be recalled.

For some vehicles within the scope of this recall, due to supplier manufacturing reasons, the strength of the front and rear steering knuckles may not meet the design requirements. The steering knuckle may be deformed or broken during the use of the vehicle, and under extreme stress conditions may cause the suspension link to fall out of the steering knuckle, which affects the driving control of the vehicle, increases the risk of collision accidents, and poses safety hazards.

Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. will inspect the front and rear steering knuckles of the vehicles within the recall area free of charge, and replace the steering knuckles that do not meet the required strength to eliminate potential safety hazards.
