On July 11, SAIC-GM-Wuling’s 20.25 million complete vehicles and the new MPV based on the “R platform” – Baojun RM-5 officially went offline. The new car adopts Baojun’s latest “Interstellar Geometry” design concept and will be officially launched in the second half of the year.
Baojun RM-5 adopts the latest “interstellar geometry” design concept, the huge “U” type air intake grille is integrated with the slender daytime running light, the grille is called matrix star-shaped grille design element, coupled with a brand new Baojun badge, the sense of quality is instantly improved.
For the interior, the new car is finished with a dark and light contrast color. It is decorated with 8 color variable ambient lights and a full range of soft materials to create a stylish and dynamic interior atmosphere. The center console outlines with a straight line, using an integrated design of a 12.3-inch instrument panel and a 10.25-inch central control panel.
In terms of configuration, the new car features panoramic sunroof, electronic handbrake/automatic parking, push-button starter, the mobile car networking system can provide a convenient intelligent interactive experience. The new car will also offer 5-seat (2+3), 6-seat (2+2+2) and 7-seat(2+3+2) layouts to meet the multi-scene travel needs of different families. It is reported that in the six layouts, the new Baojun RM-5 will provide a unique parent-child program, or will lead a number of families to travel to choose a new trend.
In terms of body size, the new car has a length and height of 4,705/1,806/1625 mm, wheelbase of 2,750 mm, and curb weight of 1541 (1,565) kg. In terms of power, the RM-5 will be powered by a 1.5T four-cylinder turbocharged engine code-named LJO, which meets the China-VI emission standards and has maximum power output of 108 kW (147 hp).
On April 11, 2019, the “New Baojun” brand was launched based on the SAIC-GM-Wuling R platform and branded with a new diamond logo. Just today, Baojun RM-5, which has been code-named “CN202M”, got offline.
