We’ve learned from official sources that the MG S5 will make its world debut at the Chengdu Auto Show on August 30th, with a formal launch scheduled for the fourth quarter. Positioned as a compact SUV, the MG S5 will feature a pure electric powertrain.
A quick look at the exterior reveals the MG S5 adopting the classic X-element design, featuring slender headlights paired with a lower air intake, complemented by a split grille on the front bumper. The overall design exudes a sporty vibe. The vehicle will also offer 17 and 18-inch wheel options. At the rear, a bar-type tail lamp with a smoked finish, along with a high-mounted brake light, echoes the front design. In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4476mm in length, 1849mm in width, and 1621mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2730mm.
Under the hood, the new vehicle will be equipped with a pure electric powertrain, featuring a single motor capable of producing a maximum power of 125kW, allowing for a top speed of 170km/h. A lithium iron phosphate battery will provide the energy. We will continue to monitor for further updates on this new model.
