Before starting work in Europe, Liu Xinyu was the executive director of SAIC Volkswagen Skoda Division, responsible for sales, branding and marketing, network development and after-sales. Before that, he held various management positions in the supply chain and purchasing departments of the SAIC-VW joint venture. He joined MG Motor Europe in 2019 when the MG brand was relaunched in continental Europe. In March 2020, Liu Xinyu was appointed CEO of MG Motor France. He has achieved certain results after launching the new MG brand in France.
