The Jeep brand manufactured by GAC-FCA will launch 2019 Jeep Compass in China market. The new Jeep Compass will be launched in mid-April and is expected to be announced at the Shanghai Auto Show on April 16. According to the information from China MIIT(Ministry of Industry and Information Technology), 2019 Jeep Compass China-spec will have a four-cylinder turbocharged engine with displacement of 1332mL.
2019 Jeep Compass China-spec does not change much in appearance, whether the front, rear, or lighting details are exactly the same as the current Jeep Compass 1.4T models. However, depending on the vehicle configuration, 2019 Jeep Compass China-spec will be available in several submodels such as SPORT, LONGITUDE, LIMITED, and Trailhawk. In addition, the new car will be available in 17-inch or 18-inch wheels and offer a variety of styles.
In terms of power, Compare to the US-Spec’s 2.4L Engine, due to the China’s vehicle emission control, 2019 Jeep Compass China-spec will be powered by GSE-T4 1.3T inline four-cylinder engine (displacement 1332ml) which is as same as the one powered by Jeep Renegade US-Spec. This engine is one of Fiat’s global small-displacement engine series that meets China VI(CN-6) emission standards to replace the current 1.4T engine.
The 1.3litre turbocharged engine has a maximum power of 127kW (173PS, 170HP) , the transmission is expected to match a 6-speed manual or 9-speed automatic transmission. The Compass competes with the Honda CR-V, Subaru Forester, Toyota RAV4 and other small SUVs.
