We learned Xpeng Motors that the 2020 Xpeng G3 will be launched on July 10 2019. The new car is mainly upgraded range compared to the current model. It is reported that 2020 Xpeng G3 will provide both versions according to different range: 401km and 520km (NEDC standard), each version has three configurations, battery is from CATL. It is expected to be delivered by the end of August this year.
The current Xpeng G3 has a battery capacity of 47.1kWh and 47.6kWh. The cruising range is 351km and 365km. The subsidy price is 155,800 yuan to 199,800 yuan in China market which is the same as the outgoing model. The new car will be upgraded in range based on the current model. 2020 Xpeng G3 520km version will be equipped with 66.5kWh battery pack, energy density of 180wh/kg. It will take 30 minutes to charge from 30% to 80% under DC fast charging conditions. At the same time, the battery PTC heating system will also become standard to enhance the vehicle’s battery life in winter.
The current Xpeng G3 was launched on December 12, 2018. As of June 18 this year, Xpeng Motors has mass delivered 10,000 models. In addition to vehicle development, Xpeng Motors has also rapidly established its operating system, including charging system, Internet operation, autonomous driving AI operation, and user operation. The launch of the new Xpeng G3 will also make up for the shortcomings of the range and increase the competitiveness in the horizontal market.
Xpeng G3 is the first pure EV from Xpeng Motors in China market, it is considered by many Chinese as the China’s cost-effective Model 3.
