NIO’s ONVO L90 Officially Unveiled at Auto Shanghai 2025

The highly anticipated ONVO L90 from NIO‘s sub-brand ONVO has finally made its official debut at the opening of Auto Shanghai 2025. As ONVO‘s flagship model, this large SUV is built upon NIO’s NT3.0 platform, boasting a length of 5145mm and a wheelbase of 3110mm. The new battery-powered EV features a six-seat layout, with the company stating it can accommodate “6 person + 10 suitcases.” However, the interior was not revealed at this auto show, and the specific space performance remains to be unveiled. According to previous reports, the ONVO L90 is scheduled to officially launch in the third quarter.


Looking at the exterior, the new car continues the brand’s family design language, with highly recognizable split headlights that the company calls “Starlight Shining” intelligent interactive pixel headlights. It is reported that these headlights feature ADB adaptive functionality, including adaptive high beams, dynamic cornering lights, custom light signals, welcome/farewell lighting sequences, and multi-scenario interactions.

Turning to the side profile, the vehicle’s substantial size is evident in the images, with dimensions of 5145/1998/1766mm (length/width/height) and a wheelbase of 3110mm. Two cameras mounted on the roof indicate that it will adopt a pure vision-based autonomous driving solution. Notably, the ONVO L90 will also utilize a staggered tire setup, with front tire sizes of 255/55 R20 and rear tire sizes of 275/50 R20, or alternatively, front tires of 255/50 R21 and rear tires of 275/45 R21.

At the rear, a very thick D-pillar design conveys a strong sense of power. The taillights adopt a horizontal strip design and will also feature pixel-based intelligent interactive functionality. In terms of features, it will be equipped with electric side steps and air suspension, among others.

In terms of powertrain, the new vehicle features all-domain 900V high-voltage electric technology and will offer both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions. The rear-wheel-drive model’s motor has a maximum power output of 340kW, while the all-wheel-drive version’s front and rear motors have maximum power outputs of 100kW and 340kW, respectively. All models will come standard with an 85kWh battery pack, with both lithium iron phosphate and ternary lithium options available.
