Recently, Voyah Automobile (a sub-brand from Dongfeng Motor Group) released its new L3 intelligent architecture: Tian Yuan Zhi Jia. This architecture will include two subsets: the Qingyun L3 Intelligent Safe Driving Platform and the Kunpeng L3 Intelligent Safe Driving System. Additionally, the new Voyah FREE will simultaneously be equipped with Huawei‘s most advanced intelligent driving system and HarmonyOS cockpit, which will address the current model’s shortcomings in the intelligent domain. The new vehicle developed in cooperation with Huawei will also be unveiled at the upcoming Shanghai Auto Show.

According to internal data from Voyah, its high-level intelligent driving package has an activation rate of up to 94%, with a total intelligent driving mileage exceeding 10.58 million kilometers. The intelligent driving mileage in urban areas has reached 2.44 million kilometers, and some users have even seen their single-day intelligent driving mileage “surge” to 2097 kilometers. To further enhance intelligent driving capabilities, the Tian Yuan Zhi Jia architecture has emerged. This architecture encompasses various aspects such as power, intelligence, and safety.

In terms of power, it debuts Voyah’s axial flux motor, delivering a single-motor torque of 680 N·m. The chassis incorporates steer-by-wire and brake-by-wire technologies. Notably, the steer-by-wire system eliminates the traditional mechanical steering column design, allowing its steering ratio to be adjusted arbitrarily between 4.5:1 and 15:1, rather than being a fixed number. Besides improving handling feel, this also better enables L3-level autonomous driving on semi-closed roads.

The fully active suspension is also a key feature of this architecture. This suspension integrates dual-valve continuously variable damping shock absorbers, air springs, an 800V high-voltage electro-hydraulic pump, and an active road preview system. It boasts an adjustment capability of 10 times per second and can complete a 200mm suspension travel lift or drop within 0.5 seconds. Through binocular stereo vision preview cameras that real-time scan the road surface within 40 meters, the system can proactively lift all four wheels to clear low obstacles up to 15cm high and then drive smoothly after landing. The independently controlled damping force of the four wheels (±10000N bandwidth) and a peak lifting force of 41000N, in conjunction with L3 intelligent driving algorithms, collaboratively manage the vehicle’s body posture in real time. This not only mitigates bumps on rough roads but also ensures “railcar-level” stability when cornering at high speeds, and it demonstrates robust off-road capability in challenging situations.

In terms of intelligent driving, the Tian Yuan Zhi Jia architecture introduces an intelligent driving system consisting of 48 sensors, a 1000TOPS computing platform, and an end-to-end visual-language-action multimodal large model. The entire solution is jointly developed by Voyah and Huawei, featuring several world-first hardware and software products. For example, the lidar adopts a product with over 700 lines, achieving a detection range of 300 meters. Its recognition accuracy at the same distance is 7 times that of a 128-line lidar, with an extremely high point cloud density and exceptional detection precision.

The computing platform utilizes a dual-chip backup design with a combined computing power exceeding 1000 TOPS. During L3 intelligent driving, it can identify objects as small as 15 centimeters on the ground within a 100-meter range, and the maximum braking speed for AEB can reach 160 km/h.

Accompanying the release of the Tian Yuan Zhi Jia architecture, the full-size large six-seater SUV with the codename “Taishan” will also be launched within this year. This will be the first model equipped with the Tian Yuan Zhi Jia architecture, including the fully active suspension, axial flux motor, and L3-level high-level intelligent driving capabilities.
