LeDao (it has its English brand name “ONVO“), a new electric vehicle brand from NIO, officially launched its first mid-sized SUV, the LeDao L60, on September 19th. Priced starting at 206,900 yuan, or 149,900 yuan with a battery rental plan, the L60 is built upon NIO’s cutting-edge NT3.0 platform and will have access to NIO’s battery swap network. Standard features on all LeDao models include autonomous parking, highway pilot, a 254TOPS intelligent driving chip, a 17.2-inch central touchscreen, a Qualcomm 8295P in-vehicle chip, a head-up display, heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats, an 18-speaker audio system, ambient lighting, power-adjustable second-row seats, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, and vehicle-to-load capability.

Under the direction of renowned automotive designer Raul Pires, formerly of Bentley, the LeDao L60 showcases a unique design language that sets it apart from NIO’s offerings. The SUV’s aerodynamic profile, characterized by a Cd of 0.229, is achieved through a closed-off front grille and split-headlight configuration. The “WAY UP” design philosophy, symbolizing upward progress, complements the vehicle’s family-oriented appeal. A palette of seven exterior colors allows for personalized expression.

The side profile exudes a sporty aesthetic, characterized by short overhangs, a coupe-like roof, muscular wheel arches, a low center of gravity, and an aggressive stance. The vehicle’s aerodynamic efficiency is highlighted by a drag coefficient of Cd 0.229, contributing to extended range. As a mid-size SUV, it boasts dimensions of 4,828mm in length, 1,930mm in width, and 1,616mm in height, with a wheelbase spanning 2,950mm.

At the rear, the vehicle features a liftback tailgate that opens to a wide angle, facilitating cargo loading. According to the manufacturer, the LeDao L60 can accommodate two 28-inch, two 24-inch, and one 20-inch suitcases, making it suitable for family outings with five passengers.

In terms of intelligent driving, LeDao claims that the L60 will come equipped with a ready-to-use pure vision solution. All models come standard with 30 high-performance perception hardware components, including one 4D imaging millimeter-wave radar with a maximum detection range of 370m; seven 8-megapixel high-definition cameras, with a maximum forward detection range of 687m; and four starlight 360-degree cameras capable of clear vision in low-light conditions as low as 12 lux.

The interior of the new car adopts a minimalist design style, offering four color options: Warm Brown, Elegant Black, Soft White, and Lilac Purple. The three-spoke steering wheel features two scroll wheels and is equipped with a driver fatigue monitoring system. A 17.2-inch LCD screen with a 3K retina resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio dominates the center console. The vehicle’s operating system, “SkyOS”, boasts high bandwidth, low latency, high computing power, heterogeneous hardware, cross-domain fusion, flexible continuous evolution, high reliability, and information security. It powers LeDao’s Coconut intelligent system, enabling future-oriented intelligent hardware architecture and continuous evolution. The intelligent applications include City Oasis AI cockpit for immersive audio-visual experience and comfortable cabin, Xiao Le, an intimate AI family companion with multi-modal large models, and ONVO Smart Driving, which is available upon delivery. The vehicle is also equipped with a 18-speaker LeDao sound system.

The new vehicle is equipped with a front MacPherson strut and rear five-link independent suspension, along with an FSD variable damping suspension system, resulting in a turning radius of only 10.8 meters. In terms of safety, the LeDao L60 comes standard with a high-strength occupant protection cell and a battery protection cell. Additionally, it features 45 safety configurations, including 2000Mpa ultra-high-strength steel, collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring, providing comprehensive protection for both occupants and the battery.

Built upon Nio’s third-generation technology platform, NT3.0, LeDao vehicles will share the Nio battery swap network. The LeDao L60 will be exclusively based on a 900V silicon carbide platform. The two-wheel-drive variant will feature a 240kW motor, while the four-wheel-drive version will have a 100kW front motor and a 240kW rear motor. The vehicle will offer both 60kWh lithium iron phosphate and 85kWh ternary lithium batteries, providing a range of 730km and 1,000+km, respectively. Notably, the BaaS battery leasing scheme allows users to switch between 75kWh and 100kWh battery packs for daily commuting and long-distance trips, delivering ranges of 555km, 730km, and 1,000+km. With an energy consumption of 12.1kWh/100km and a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 4.6 seconds, the L60 offers impressive performance.
